Tennis Equipment Distribution

At The Mbandi Tennis Foundation, we collect and distribute new and gently used tennis equipment: rackets, balls, shoes, and apparel; to youth in underserved communities across Kenya. Equipment is provided free of charge to participants in our programs, helping remove barriers to entry and ensuring every child has the tools to play and grow.

Coaching & Training Camps

Through special coaching camps, The Mbandi Tennis Foundation offers youth the chance to learn from internationally recognized coaches: including the Mbandi brothers, Coach Willis and Coach Arnold, and other visiting professionals. These free or low-cost camps provide high-quality instruction, mentorship, and inspiration for players of all levels.

Camps are held periodically throughout the year. Youth can apply or register through our website or local partner schools and clubs. Space is limited, follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter to learn about upcoming opportunities!

Annual Tournaments - The Mbandi Masters Invitational & Beyond

The Mbandi Masters Invitational is our premier youth tournament, now in its fourth year and recognized as a key event in Kenya’s junior tennis calendar. Held in Nairobi, it brings together top 12U and 14U talent for a weekend of competition, mentorship, and celebration.

Looking ahead, we aspire to expand our tournament offerings across Kenya, creating more opportunities for young athletes to grow, compete, and shine. Join us as a participant, volunteer, or supporter and help shape the future of youth tennis in East Africa.

Scholarship Support for Junior Players

For many talented young tennis players in Kenya, the path to international recognition and career advancement is blocked by financial barriers. Through our Scholarship Support Program, the Mbandi Tennis Foundation provides essential funding to help junior athletes from low-income backgrounds participate in ITF (International Tennis Federation) tournaments hosted in Kenya. These competitions are crucial stepping stones for players seeking to improve their global rankings and gain international experience.

Our scholarship fund covers tournament entry fees, travel, accommodation, and equipment, ensuring that ability, not income, determines opportunity. In addition to financial support, recipients receive mentorship and logistical guidance to help them navigate tournament systems and prepare for high-level competition. By tracking progress and player development, we remain focused on long-term impact.

Sponsor a Player

Help us remove financial barriers for young athletes to support the next generation of champions.

Partnering with the Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI)

We are proud to collaborate with the Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI), a national grassroots program run by Tennis Kenya (KLTA) that introduces the sport to thousands of children through schools across the country. With over 6,000 young participants in 30–40 schools, JTI is a powerful entry point for expanding access to tennis and identifying future talent.

Through this partnership, the Mbandi Tennis Foundation supports JTI-affiliated schools by providing tennis equipment, coaching clinics, and outreach programs. We work closely with Tennis Kenya to align our development pathways, ensuring that young players with promise are connected to coaching, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities that can take them to the next level.
